Government reshuffled 43 IPS, TPS

Agartala, 6th September 2025:  In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Government of Tripura has announced the transfer and posting of 43 IPS and TPS officers with immediate effect.

 The changes, ordered by the Governor in the interest of public service, affect a wide range of positions across the state’s police and security apparatus.

Key appointments include Krishnendu Chakraverty, IPS, who has been made In-charge IGP (Intelligence & Security), Tripura, while retaining the additional charge of SP (SB).  Sanjoy Roy, IPS, moves from DIGP, Training, to take up the role of DIGP (Crime), Agartala.

The reshuffle also sees inter-state movement, with Dilip Ray, IPS, being directed to report to the Government of Manipur, replacing the retired Shri Subrata Charaborty, IPS.

Several officers have been given additional responsibilities. For instance, Prabir Majumder, IPS, will continue as DIGP (Headquarters) but will now also hold the additional charge of DIGP, Training. Similarly, Kallol Roy, TPS Gr.I, takes over as SP(MTF) with the additional charge of STF.

The postings involve command positions in various battalions of the Tripura State Rifles (TSR), with officers like Anirban Dhar Choudhury, Jyotisman Daschoudhuri, and Narayan Roy Choudhury being appointed as Commandants of the 10th, 7th, and 13th battalions, respectively.

The order also details the postings of probationary IPS officers to sub-divisional and assistant roles, such as Vikash Senthiya, who moves to SDPO, Bishalgarh, and  Vishal Kumar, who is now Asstt. SP (HQr.) for South District. The Government also replaced Amarpur and Udaipur Sub division police officers Debanjali Roy and Nirman Das.

The notification, signed by Under Secretary J. Datta, has been circulated to all concerned departments and officers for immediate implementation.
