Agartala: October 27. Although the central government wants to expand the employment opportunities of the state, the unemployed youths are still deprived of this opportunity. Union Ministry of Health has provided job opportunities for Counselors in various posts including Doctors in ICTC Center under Aids Control Society but nothing have been come out.
Health Secretary on Wednesday Dr Debashish Bose conducted the review meeting. In that meeting, there was a detailed discussion about medical services in the state.
The strange thing is that the health secretary did not utter a single word in that review meeting. It is for this reason that the question arises whether the health secretary is interested in ensuring employment opportunities in the scheme announced by the central government for the benefit of the educated unemployed boys and girls of the state. Or is the health secretary trying to humiliate the chief minister of the state? This complaint is coming from educated unemployed boys and girls.
Sources said that Aids Control Society ICTC Center has 47 vacancies for various posts as Counsellors. However, the file for the appointment of 29 posts in various posts has gone to the minister of the state government. The file reached the departmental minister’s desk in May last but has remained in the same place till date.
He also informed that almost 6 months are going to pass. But from 29 posts, not even one post has given to anyone. Since 1990, the Union Ministry of Health has been recruiting unemployed educated boys and girls as counselors in ICTC centers. And in this project, the central government provides all the facilities including salary and allowances. The state government does not have to bear a single penny in this scheme.
