Agartala: September 25. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha today announced that government would soon take initiative to fill up the necessary faculty and other vacant posts in the Regional Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology (RIPSAT) in Agartala.
The CM said this while inaugurating the 12th World Pharmacists Day celebrations organized by the Regional Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology (RIPSAT) in Agartala today. “Pharmacists are in no way lesser than any other medical faculty. Physicians, nurses as well as other allied health care providers play an important role in patient care”, said Dr Saha.
CM Dr Saha has also encouraged the blood donors by attending the Voluntary Blood Donation Camp organized as part of World Pharmacists Day. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha said that this year’s theme of World Pharmacists Day is ‘Pharmacy United in Action for a Healthier World’.
“Students from other states besides Tripura come to the state for taking education in various courses of pharmacy in the RIPSAT institute in the state. Earlier students of the state had to go out of the state to pursue various courses in pharmacy. Immediate steps would be taken to fill up the necessary faculty and other vacant posts in RIPSAT”, said CM. He also mentioned the skills of students and the role of teachers in their full development.
The Chief Minister has also expressed the hope that students of RIPSAT in the state will be established in various fields in the coming days and will shine the name of the state along with their reputation.
Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Department Debashish Basu was present at the event, Director of Medical Education Professor Chinmay Biswas, Director of Health Department Dr. Subhashis Debbarma, Principal, Al Amin College of Pharmacy, Bangalore Prof. Moh Salahuddin. Prof. (Dr.) Shubhokanta Das, principal of Ripsat, Agartala, delivered the welcome address on the occasion.
