Agartala, 2nd March 2026: The Albert Ekka Brigade of the Red Shield Division, under the aegis of Spear Corps, successfully hosted a State Level Mega Ex-Servicemen Rally at Agartala Military Station on Monday.
The rally drew an impressive turnout of more than 1,500 veterans and Veer Naris from all eight districts of Tripura, underscoring the Indian Army’s enduring commitment to the welfare and well-being of its veteran community.
Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Senior military and civil dignitaries were also present, including Lt Gen Abhijit S Pendharkar, UYSM, AVSM, SM, GOC Spear Corps; Maj Gen Shubhankar Basu, SM, VSM, GOC 57 Mountain Division; Brig Dheeraj Kumar Singh, 73 Mountain Brigade; and Brig Nishant Chandel, DIG HQ 21 Sector Assam Rifles.
Veterans and Veer Naris were felicitated during the programme in recognition of their dedicated service and supreme sacrifice for the nation.
To address welfare needs, facilitation stalls were set up offering ECHS assistance, SPARSH pension support, Aadhaar services, banking facilities, and medical consultations with on-the-spot distribution of medicines.
A “Know Your Army” exhibition was also organized, showcasing the ethos, operational capabilities, modern equipment, and career opportunities in the Indian Army. The display aimed to foster greater military-civil connect and inspire NCC cadets and local youth.
The event concluded with vibrant cultural performances reflecting Tripura’s rich heritage, further strengthening the bond between the Armed Forces and the people of the state.
