Governor released a special book on life and legacy of Late N. J. Yasaswy, the Founder of the ICFAI Group

Agartala, 25th November 2025:    The ICFAI University Tripura released a special commemorative book dedicated to the life and legacy of Late N. J. Yasaswy, the founder of the ICFAI Group. The Biography released by the Governor of Tripura Indrasena Reddy Nallu through a grand ceremony organized today at 4 PM in the Auditorium of the University along with Prof. (Dr.) Biplab Halder, Vice Chancellor & Dr. A Ranganath, Registrar of the University. The title of the book is ‘First. Forever. N J Yasaswy – They Don’t Make Them Like Him Anymore,’.

During the welcome address, Prof. (Dr.) Halder gave a detailed speech about the life, Philosophy, Visionary thought of Late Yasaswy. Governor in his address said that Yasaswy was the person who thought long back reaching of modern education.  He narrated the life of Yasaswy with many examples that made him a Namasya person.

The book is a collection of insightful articles contributed by eminent personalities who were closely associated with Late N. J.Yasaswy at various stages of his life. The book reflects on his inspiring journey, visionary leadership and immense contributions to higher education and institution-building. It is to be noted here that Late N. J. Yasaswy, born on 9th February,1950 at Tenali in Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh, was a multifaceted genius and a pioneer in redefining private higher education in India. His well-known dictum, ‘Ours is a private effort with a public purpose’ continue to inspire the ICFAI fraternity. His innate strengths lateral thinking and outstanding ability to articulate ideas made him a visionary of rare distinction.

The commemorative book pays tribute to this charismatic leader, a visionary thinker and an extraordinary institution builder. Unfortunately he expired on 8th October,2011. He was a ‘friend, philosopher and guide’ to all members of ICFAI Family and this book is a bouquet of remembrance. 

The official opening of the book was followed by the singing of the National Anthem and the vote of thanks delivered by the Registrar of the University.
