Governor undertakes two-day visit to Sabroom to assess border region’s socio-economic realities

Agartala, 10th December 2025:   Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu embarked on a two-day visit to Sabroom in South Tripura to review the socio-economic conditions, educational infrastructure, and the everyday lives of residents in the state’s border areas.

Yesterday evening, the Governor began his tour at Ludhua’s Eklavya Model Residential School, where he interacted with students. He listened to their experiences regarding academics, housing facilities, opportunities, and future aspirations.

Later, he visited Ludhua Tea Garden, observing the production process and engaging with workers to understand their livelihood challenges. The Governor also inspected the tribal girls’ hostel at Sabroom PM Shri Balika Vidyalaya, hearing grievances from residents and reviewing infrastructure. His first day’s engagements concluded at 7:40 p.m., under the supervision of Rupai Cherra Block Development Officer Pritam Debnath.

Resuming his tour on Wednesday morning, December 10, Governor Nallu met locals at Kotbaishwa Adventure Park, including TRLM members, farmers, and cultivators, to gain insights into their socio-economic conditions. He then visited the Srinagar border haat, which has remained closed since the COVID-19 pandemic, to examine prospects for its revival. The day ended with a visit to the Karimattilla Border Outpost of BSF’s 121 Battalion, where he inspected a weapons display and interacted with students from nearby areas.

Officials described the two-day visit as a significant step toward identifying challenges, opportunities, and development strategies for Tripura’s border regions. Today’s program was coordinated by Poangbari Block Development Officer Deepak Das.

The Governor was accompanied throughout the tour by Dakshin Tripura Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Dipak Datta, District Magistrate Mohammad Sajjad P, Superintendent of Police Moria Krishna C, Sabroom SDM Abhijit Singh Yadav, TSR 14th Battalion Commandant Shishir Das, and BSF 121 Battalion Commandant Sunil Kumar Mishra, along with other senior administrative officials.
