Govt takes steps to empower Divyanganjan through Skill development: Tinku

Agartala: July 19. Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy today said that Divyanganjan should not feel that they are burden to the society as Skill development training in various subjects is being organized in the state so that the Divyanganjan can stand on their own feet.

“Divyanganjan people have no reason to feel helpless. They are not a burden to society. Skill development training in various subjects is being organized in the state so that the Divyanganjan can stand on their own feet”, said Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy said this while inaugurating a 3-month long skill development training camp for Divyanganjan.

The training camp was organized at Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (Dibyangajan) Centre in Narsingarh.

Organized by Social Welfare and Social Education Department, 10 Divyanganjan boys and girls participated in this training camp. They will be trained to make bamboo vases, bamboo lamps, bamboo bottles and various home decoration items.

Social Welfare Minister Tinku Roy also said that the government is always on the side of Divyangjans.

“The state government has given priority to the welfare of the disabled. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given special importance to the development of the skills of the youth of the country. The government wants to make the current generation self-reliant. For this, various vocational training is being arranged. He expressed hope that those who will be trained here will help in the future”, he said.

Speaking as a special guest, Tripura Markfed Chairman Krishnadhan Das said that the state government has taken various programs for the vocational education of Divyangjans.
