Govt to set up a solar power plant in Kanchanpur: Bikash

Agartala: Janajati Kalyan Minister Bikas Debbarma today said that the present government has given priority to the overall development tribal of populated areas.

“The government is committed to the welfare of the tribal people. For this purpose, various projects of the central and state governments are being implemented in Kanchanpur sub-division”, said Bikash in a review meeting on the progress of the development program in Kanchanpur sub-division today. This review meeting was held today under the chairmanship of the Janajati Kalyan Minister in the meeting room of the Kanchanpur Revenue Dak Bungalow.

  In the meeting, the Minister inquired about the various development programs implemented by the Department of Education, Health, Drinking Water, Works, Electricity, Forestry, Rural Development, Agriculture, Horticulture and Fisheries in Kanchanpur Sub-division. In the meeting, the future work plan for the overall development of the subdivision was also discussed.

In the meeting, the Minister said that the government has taken various steps to deliver drinking water and electricity services to the marginal towns of the state. Moreover, the government has also given the right to expand quality education and decentralize health services.

He said that an initiative has been taken to provide electricity service with the help of solar energy to the areas of Kanchanpur sub-division where electricity service has not yet reached. Moreover, an exclusive model residential school will also be constructed in this subdivision. MDC Bidyut Debvarma, MDC Shailendra Nath, MDC Sapna Rani Das, BAC chairmen of various blocks of the subdivision, officers of the subdivision administration and BDOs were present in the review meeting.
