Govt to upgraded PHCs, UPHCs into health and wellness centre by 2022: CM

Agartala: August 10. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha today said that his government has decided to upgrade all the Primary Health Care Services and Upper Primary Health Care Services into health and wellness centre by 2022.

While inaugurating a new building of Natun Bazar Community Health Centre (CHC), Dr Saha said that this double engine government is working with priority basis to develop the health sector of the state.

“Our government has decided that by 2022 all PHC and UPHC will be upgraded into health and wellness centre for which work has already been started. This double engine government is working with priority basis to develop the health sector of the state. In our state 1005 health sub centre and 115 PHC which will be up-graded into health and wellness centre”, he said.

CM further said that the infant mortality rate in Tripura which was 27% in the year 2015 has drastically come down by 21%.“Apart from these the government has lays emphasis on health infrastructure under gram panchayat”, he said.He also informed that the government has increased the seat capacities of AGMC and TMC from 63 to 79.
