Govt’s ‘Divyangjan’ Initiatives Key to Inclusive Development: Minister Ratan Lal Nath

Agartala, 6th February 2024:   Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Tuesday asserted that both central and state governments are implementing diverse schemes aimed at enhancing the livelihoods of ‘Divyangjan’ nationwide. He emphasized that the successful execution of the overarching principle of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ hinges upon these efforts.

Inaugurating the six-day long ‘Divya Kala Mela’ at Children’s Park here on Tuesday, Nath said that the fair was a unique initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who envisioned a self-reliant and inclusive India. He said that the country cannot progress without the development of all sections of society, especially the backward and deprived ones. He said that the central and state governments were implementing various schemes to empower and uplift the Divyangjans and make them self-reliant.

He also praised the enterprising and skilled artists who participated in the fair and encouraged them to continue their creative pursuits. He said that such fairs would provide them with a platform to showcase their talents and earn a livelihood. He expressed his hope that with the cooperation of all, Tripura would become a better and self-reliant state.

Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy, who was also present at the occasion, said that India had witnessed a great transformation in various fields under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that India was at the top of the world in many aspects and had set an example for other countries. He highlighted the various developmental works and programs undertaken by the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education and the State Government for the welfare of the disabled.

The guests also distributed various supporting materials to the selected Divyangjans at the event. Naveen Shah, CMD of NDFDC, welcomed everyone in the opening ceremony and thanked them for their participation and support. NDFDC AGM Arun Kumar delivered the vote of thanks and expressed his gratitude to the organizers and the artists. Deputy Commissioner of Works Department Achintam Kilikdar, Director of NILD Kolkata Lalit Narayan, social worker Rajib Ghosh and others were also in attendance.

The fair, organized by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, aims to showcase and market the products of Divyangjans from different states of the country.\
