Health Officials Review Unakoti District Hospital: Plans to Reopen Oxygen Plant Soon

Agartala, 25th November 2024:  National Health Mission Director Dr. Samit Roy Chowdhury and Health Director Dr. Shouvik Debbarma visited Unkoti District Hospital today to assess ongoing issues and review plans for health service enhancements and infrastructure development.

A team of officials from multiple departments participated in the inspection, focusing on addressing challenges and improving the quality of healthcare services at the hospital. A detailed meeting was held during the visit to identify bottlenecks and propose solutions for better medical care delivery in the district.

One of the key takeaways from the meeting was the assurance to restart the district hospital’s oxygen plant, a critical facility that has been non-operational. The initiative is expected to significantly enhance healthcare capabilities in the region.

The inspection team included Additional District Magistrate Francis Darlong, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Pradip Sarkar, Chief Health Officer Dr. Shirshendu Chakma, Medical Superintendent Dr. Rohan Pal, Executive Engineer Pradip Chandra Das, and senior officials from the Public Works Department.

This collaborative approach aims to fast-track improvements and ensure that Unkoti District Hospital meets the healthcare needs of the local population effectively.
