Agartala, 24th January 2026:   Tripura Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Dhankar on Saturday announced that comprehensive security arrangements have been implemented across the state to ensure the smooth and peaceful observance of Republic Day 2026.

Speaking to the media, the DGP said that security has been intensified at all vulnerable and sensitive locations. Adequate deployment of police personnel has also been made at venues hosting major Republic Day functions to prevent any untoward incidents.

“All District Superintendents of Police, Sub-Divisional Police Officers, Officers-in-Charge, and police stations across Tripura have been placed on high alert,” Dhankar stated. He added that the entire police force is working round the clock to maintain law and order during the celebrations.

The DGP further informed that the state police is coordinating closely with Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and central intelligence agencies. Several coordination meetings have already been conducted, and a well-defined security strategy has been finalized to ensure uninterrupted and peaceful celebrations.

“Security arrangements across Tripura have been further strengthened. The police department is fully prepared and committed to carrying out its responsibilities efficiently,” Dhankar assured.

He also appealed to the public to extend cooperation to security personnel and promptly report any suspicious activities to help maintain peace and safety during the Republic Day festivities.
