Agartala, October 14: In a heart-warming display of compassion and social responsibility, members of the Helping Hands Society extended a warm gesture to the elderly residents of the newly established Sahammarmi Old Age Home. On the auspicious occasion of Mahalaya i.e. Saturday, which precedes the much-anticipated Shardotsava, the organization presented sarees and blankets to the senior mothers living at the facility.
The informal ceremony held on Mahalaya witnessed the presence of notable dignitaries, including Jiten Majumder, the MLA of Kakraban-Shalgarah assembly constituency, Acting Sabhadipati Debal Debroy of Gomati Zilla Parishad, Chairperson Shital Chandra Majumdar of Udaipur Municipal Council, Chairperson Supriya Saha of Kakraban Panchayat Samiti, Kakraban Agriculture Supervisor Raju Majumder, philanthropist Rakesh Shil, and Joydeep Poddar, President of Helping Hands Society.
The event also featured the esteemed presence of Prajjablika Bhowmik, founder of the organization, Simpli Majumdar, co-president, Ruchira Saha, editor, Jayanta Das, joint secretary, and Shubhra Shekhar Nag, treasurer, alongside Prasenjit Das and other distinguished members of the Helping Hands Society.
The Helping Hands Society has been at the forefront of social initiatives in the undivided southern district, consistently engaging in philanthropic endeavours throughout the year. Their latest endeavour to provide essential items to the elderly residents of Sahammarmi Old Age Home was met with appreciation from both the old age home authorities and the general public.
