Historic Pilak Archaeological & Tourism Fair concludes at Jolaibari

Agartala, 10th January 2026:   The historic Pilak Archaeological and Tourism Fair in Jolaibari concluded amid great enthusiasm and excitement. The closing ceremony was graced by the presence of Jolaibari MLA and Minister of PTG & Minority Development, Shukla Charan Noatia as the chief guest.

Minister Noatia was accompanied by Santirbazar Municipal Council Chairperson Swapna Baidya, Jolaibari Panchayat Samiti Chairman Tapas Dutta, social worker Sujit Datta, along with several other guests.

At the outset of the program, the minister, accompanied by his family and supporters, toured the fairgrounds, visiting various stalls and interacting with traders. His presence generated widespread enthusiasm among local residents and tourists alike. In his address, Shri Noatia highlighted the historical significance of Pilak, underscoring its cultural and archaeological importance.

Among the government stalls, the Jolaibari Agriculture Department secured first place. A special trophy was handed over to the department’s supervisor, Shridam Das, in recognition of their efforts. Farmers were also presented with special gifts to encourage agricultural development.

The fair was successfully organized with the cooperation of the Santirbazar sub-divisional administration, Baikhora Police Station OC Bishnu Das, the fair committee, and officials from the Santirbazar sub-divisional Information & Cultural Affairs department led by Anupam Pal. Expressing gratitude, the minister thanked the organizing committee and local residents for ensuring the event’s smooth and peaceful completion.
