Horrific crime at Teliamura: Minor girl assaulted; One held

Agartala, 24th May 2026 :  A shocking incident has shaken the Teliamura police station area, leaving the community outraged. According to reports, a six-year-old girl was lured with flowers and then brutally assaulted by a ninth-grade boy from a neighboring house. 

The crime allegedly took place when the child’s parents were not at home. Later that night, the girl complained of severe pain in her private parts and informed her mother. On Sunday, when locals learned of the incident, they erupted in anger, caught the accused, and handed him over to the police after beating him. 

The victim’s family has filed a written complaint at Teliamura Police Station. Authorities have registered the case under Teliamura P.S Case No. 24/2026, Section 65 (2) 4 of the POCSO Act. 

The incident has sparked widespread outrage in the area. Residents are questioning the safety of children in society and condemning the depravity that led to such a heinous act. Community members are demanding the harshest possible punishment for the accused, stressing that swift justice is essential to deter future crimes against children.
