Agartala, 4th February 2026 : The family of a missing housewife Monmala Tripura has approached the District Police Superintendent after failing to trace her for three consecutive days. The incident took place on February 1 in Nathuram Para under Poangbari block, Manu Bazar police station.
Family sources informed that Monmala Tripura, a resident of Kailashnagar ADC village in Hrishyamukh block, married Gopesh Tripura of Nathuram Para about seven years ago. The couple has a five-and-a-half-year-old daughter and a two-and-a-half-year-old son. Relatives claim their marital life was normal.
On February 1, Monmala went to Srinagar market to buy shoes for her daughter but did not return home. Concerned, her husband informed her brothers the same evening. The following day, February 2, family members lodged a missing diary at Srinagar outpost after failing to find any trace of her.
With no progress even after three days, the family sought help from senior Tipra Motha leader Pabitra Tripura. On Wednesday, Pabitra Tripura, along with Hrishyamukh block president Chandra Shekhar Tripura, executive member Dinesh Tripura, and Monmala’s brothers, submitted a written appeal to the District Police Superintendent demanding immediate action to trace her.
Meanwhile, Monmala’s brother Barun Tripura alleged before the media that his brother-in-law, Gopesh Tripura, has shown little concern since her disappearance and is instead spreading slander against her. He urged both the police and the press to extend support in locating his missing sister.
