Agartala, 9th January 2025 : The tragic suicide of Jharna Das Biswas, a housewife from the Latuatila area of Baikhora has left her family and neighbours in deep grief.
Kamal Biswas, the husband of the deceased shared that their life was going well with their three-year-old child until Suman Gope, a resident of Shankarpur entered their lives. Suman Gope, who introduced himself as Kamal’s brother, frequently visited their home. It was during these visits that Jharna Das Biswas became involved in an extramarital affair with Suman Gope.
Family members allege that Suman Gope took advantage of the loneliness in the house to meet Jharna Das Biswas regularly. This illicit relationship eventually led Jharna Das Biswas to take her own life leaving behind her young child motherless.
Kamal Biswas, devastated by the loss filed a case against Suman Gope at the police station on January 6. However, the family claims that no action has been taken by the authorities so far. Addressing the media on Thursday, Kamal Biswas demanded strict punishment for the accused, expressing his frustration and sorrow.
The incident has cast a pall over the Latuatila area, with residents and family members calling for justice and accountability.
