Agartala, 11th January 2026:   Panic gripped the city this afternoon after a human skeleton was recovered from a forested area near Bonkumari Nathpara in Agartala. The recovery has prompted an immediate investigation by East Agartala police and a forensic team.

Police sources informed that around this noon, East Agartala police received information that a skeleton was lying in the jungle adjacent to Bankumari Nath Para. Officers rushed to the spot and recovered the remains. Initial assessment suggests the skeleton is likely that of a male, though the identity has not yet been established.

Investigators believe the body had been lying in the area for several weeks, as it had decomposed almost entirely into skeletal form. The remains have been sent for forensic examination to determine further details.

Police have registered a case and launched a probe. Authorities are also checking recent missing person reports in the locality to aid identification.
