Agartala, November 25, 2022: The ICA minister Sushanta Chowdhury chaired a review meeting on the various development programs of the Jirania sub-division at the conference hall of SDM office on Friday.
In the meeting, the ICA minister directed the officials of various departments to complete all the unfinished development works of the subdivision within the next one month. In particular, he ordered the speedy completion of public welfare and service works such as road, bridge rehabilitation or new road and bridge construction programmes, electricity and drinking water connections. If necessary, he suggested to carry out renovation work on the busiest roads at night. The meeting also inquired about the health services of the sub-division in detail.
Chowdhury said that the government is working on multifaceted programs for public welfare. It must be ensured that genuine beneficiaries are not deprived of access to government schemes and services.
In the meeting, the official of the PWD department said that so far 53.4 km of road renovation and construction work has been completed in Jirania subdivision. Another 25.19 km road renovation work will be completed within the next month. 30 km of these roads have been brick soled.
In the meeting, the official of Jirania Agricultural Sub-division said that this year the target of purchasing 1,500 metric tons of paddy from 740 farmers of the sub-division has been taken. On December 18 and 19, paddy will be purchased at minimum support price in the subdivision. Moreover, 1544 farmers in Jiraniya “Krishi Sub-division are getting financial assistance under PMKisan scheme.
In the meeting, the representative of the Jirania DWS Division said that 11 thousand 592 houses have been connected to drinking water so far in Jal Jeevan Mission in Jirania. 3 new deep tubewells have been dug. Drilling of 2 tubewells is in progress.
CDPO said that currently 14 thousand 712 people are getting various social allowances in Jirania subdivision.
In the meeting, the representatives of the Department of Electricity, Fisheries, Animal Resources Development also reviewed the development programs of the respective departments.
Ranirbazar Municipal Council Chairperson Aparna Shukla Das, Vice Chairperson Prabir Das, Jirania Nagar Panchayat Chairperson Ratan Kumar Das, Jirania Panchayat Samiti Vice Chairman Pritam Debnath, Old Agartala Panchayat Samiti Vice Chairman Monty Debnath, Jirania SDM Shantiranjan Chakma and officials of various departments were present in the review meeting. Before the review meeting, ICA minister Chowdhury visited the ISTT (Truck Terminal) at Madhabari. There he discussed various advantages, disadvantages and services of Madhab Bari ITT Society.
