Agartala, 14th September 2025: The 20th Convocation of the ICFAI University was held yesterday. The stage was adorned with a galaxy of high-profile dignitaries like Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu, who is the Visitor of this University, Chief Guest of the Convocation, Chandra Shekhar Ghosh, Chairman of Bandhan Group, Founder and Former MD & CEO of Bandhan Bank and the Special Guest, Prof. (Dr.) Bhagirathi Panda, Honorary Director, North East Regional Centre of Indian Council of Social Science Research, Shillong. The Convocation ceremony was delighted by the august presence of Prof. (Dr.) T Tirupati Rao, Chancellor and Prof. (Dr.) Biplab Halder, Vice Chancellor, Dr. A Ranganath, Registrar along with the Members of Academic Council, Members of Board of Management and Members of Board of Governors of the University.
The NCC cadets offered guard of Honour while receiving the Governor on his arrival. The Convocation starts with a Ceremonial Parade jointly performed by NCC cadets of St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School & ICFAI NCC. Governor declared the Convocation OPEN. Welcome address and the annual achievement & progress report of the University was presented by Prof. (Dr.) Halder, the Vice Chancellor of the University.
Prof. (Dr.) Bhagirathi Panda while addressing the students advised to apply their knowledge and skills they acquired to build a bright future along with life skills like critical thinking. Stating the life skills biography of the Chief Guest Chandra Shekhar Ghosh and the Founder of ICFAI Group, Prof N J Yasaswy, Prof.(Dr.) T Tirupati Rao, Chancellor given the motivational speech towards the graduating students and advised to choose role model of such personalities for fixing the vision and work hard to achieve the same.
The Chief Guest Chandra Shekhar Ghosh delivered a high energetic and enthusiastic speech to all the Graduates. He also explained his life journey and hurdles faced towards achieving success entrepreneur to a Banker and now an international industrialist. He advised the graduates that PHD (Passion, Hard work and Dedication) are the key alphabet to become success.
The Governor on his speech taught the students to restrain from inferiority complex which stopped a person to move forward. He has also advised the students to apply knowledge and technology that will lead them to acquire supper power towards taking right decision. The ICFAI University Tripura proudly conferred Honorary Doctorate Degree to Chandra Shekhar Ghosh through the Convocation for his life time achievement.
This year, a total of 1,768 students graduated from 62 different programs, 49 numbers of Gold medals were awarded for the outstanding performances. Prof Sudarshan Pujari Memorial Gold medal awarded to LLM topper in memory of Prof. Sudarshan Pujari, a former Professor of Sambalpur University.
The program ended with Vote of thanks addressed by Dr. A Ranganath, Registrar of the University and singing of National Anthem. The University authority expressed best of luck for all the graduating students of the University for a Bright Career and future life ahead.
