Illegal firecrackers worth Rs 1.5 lakh seized by Amtali police during bypass raid

Agartala, July 29: Amtali Police Station staff intercepted a shipment of illegal firecrackers valued at over Rs 1.5 lakh yesterday evening during a routine naka checking operation near the Amtali bypass. Officials stopped a four-wheeler and upon conducting a thorough search recovered 10 cartons of high-decibel firecrackers from various brands.

This afternoon, Officer-in-Charge Paritosh Das addressed the media and provided detailed information about the seizure. He confirmed the estimated market value of the confiscated firecrackers and emphasized that the Amtali police are maintaining heightened vigilance to prevent unlawful transport and trade activities along the bypass corridor.

Das added, “Our team has intensified naka checking specifically to halt illegal smuggling operations via the bypass route. We are committed to ensuring that no contraband passes undetected through this stretch.”
