Agartala, 11th May 2025: A shocking incident took place at the Brajendranagar area under Madhupur police station, where a youth brutally assaulted a mosque’s Imam this morning. The accused identified as Muslem Mia, hailing from Motinagar was arrested by local residents following the violent attack.
It is reported that, Mia entered the mosque abruptly and launched a vicious assault on the Imam, inflicting severe injuries. In a disturbing turn, he allegedly bit off one of the Imam’s ears before attacking him with sharp weapons, causing multiple wounds.
Hearing the Imam’s desperate cries for help, locals rushed to the scene. When Mia attempted to flee, residents swiftly intervened, restraining him and tying him to a tree. He was later handed over to the Madhupur police station following a public outcry.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the motive behind the attack, and the Imam is currently receiving medical treatment for his injuries.
