Agartala, September 25: In celebration of Tourism Day, an international friendly football tournament is on the horizon, pitting Chittagong Sports Journalists Club against Tripura Journalists Union. The preparations are in their final stages for this exciting sporting event, scheduled to take place on September 27 at 9:30 am, hosted at the AD Nagar School Ground.
In a gesture of camaraderie, a team comprising journalists and footballers from Chittagong, Bangladesh, will arrive in Agartala tomorrow, graciously accepting the invitation extended by Tripura Journalists Union. Meanwhile, the footballers from Tripura Journalists Union are hard at work with their training regimen.
Adding to the anticipation, a brief ceremony took place on Monday afternoon at the Agartala Press Club conference hall, where the footballers of Tripura Journalists Union were presented with their jerseys. During this event, Secretary General Alok Ghosh proudly announced the roster for TJU: Santosh Gope (Captain), Abhishek Dey (Vice-Captain), Samir Bhowmik, Sujit Ghosh, Prasenjit Saha, Suman Saha, Sumit Singh, Amit Debbarma, Rabindra Kalai, Krishanu Debbarma, Jakir Hossain, Meghdhan Deb, Mintu Gupta, Saurabh Malakar, Anirban Deb, and Suprabhat Debnath (Managers)
The press conference witnessed the presence of TJU Secretary Santosh Gope, Joint Secretary Abhishek Dey, Treasurer Chinmoy Chowdhury, Executive Member Suprabhat Debnath, and other dignitaries.
Notably, Niljyoti Tours and Travels and the Tripura Grocery Wholesale Merchants Association will also be actively participating in the tournament, lending their support to the event. The Union Ministry of Tourism has offered comprehensive cooperation, and heartfelt thanks were extended to all involved on behalf of the union.
