Agartala, 9th February 2026 : Gomati district witnessed a heartbreaking accident today when a three-month-old infant lost his life in a collision at Bagma’s Karaihmura. Two others sustained serious injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at Gomati District Hospital.
Reportedly, Sanjay Jamatia, a resident of Jalema under Killa police station, was returning home from Don Bosco School in Bishramganj with his younger brother Aman Jamatia, nephew Riyan Jamatia, and daughter Sanbi Jamatia. While passing through Bagmara Karaihmura, their vehicle rammed into a stationary car parked by the roadside. The impact left Aman, little Riyan, and Sanbi critically injured.
Local residents rushed the victims to Gomati District Hospital, where doctors declared three-month-and-20-day-old Riyan Jamatia dead on arrival. The other two remain under medical care.
The incident has cast a pall of grief over the area. News of the child’s death has sparked deep sorrow and anger among locals, who gathered at the site in mourning.
