Vice President C P Radhakrishnan to visit Agartala on Mar 7–8

Agartala, 4th March 2026:   C. P. Radhakrishnan, Vice President of India, is scheduled to undertake a two-day official visit to Agartala in Tripura on March 7 and 8. The visit is expected to highlight the Centre’s continued emphasis on the development and strategic advancement of the Northeastern region.

According to official sources, the Vice President will participate in a series of high-level meetings, cultural engagements and interactive sessions during his stay. He is likely to hold discussions with the Governor and the Chief Minister of Tripura to review ongoing developmental initiatives, key infrastructure projects and socio-economic programmes being implemented across the state.

The itinerary also includes interactions with academics, intellectuals and representatives of civil society. The Vice President is expected to address gatherings at academic institutions and public forums, highlighting the importance of education, innovation and inclusive growth as drivers of regional transformation.

His engagements are also set to reflect Tripura’s cultural diversity and its growing strategic relevance under the Centre’s Act East framework, which seeks to enhance connectivity, trade and diplomatic outreach with Southeast Asian nations.

In view of the high-profile visit, elaborate security and administrative arrangements are being put in place in Agartala. The state administration, in coordination with security agencies, has intensified preparations to ensure adherence to protocol, seamless venue management and smooth conduct of official programmes.

The visit is anticipated to further strengthen Centre–state coordination and reiterate the national leadership’s commitment to the holistic development of the Northeast, a region that continues to receive focused policy attention in India’s broader growth trajectory.
