Agartala, 4th March 2026:   Residents of Madhab Para under Mandai Block have been facing acute hardship due to a prolonged shortage of drinking water. For weeks, the community has relied on tanker supply, which reaches the area only two to three times a week, leaving households struggling to meet basic needs.

Locals say repeated appeals to the Mandai Block administration and area legislator, Swapan Debbarma, have gone unanswered. Promises of a permanent solution remain unfulfilled, and frustration is mounting. “There is neither a pipeline nor a reliable water source here,” residents told reporters, highlighting the daily ordeal of fetching limited water.

In a collective appeal, villagers urged the state government and the Water Board to take immediate steps to ensure regular drinking water supply. They also warned that if their demands continue to be ignored, they will be forced to launch a public protest in the coming days.
