Interim relief worth over Rs 6 lakh provided to victims of Shantirbazar; full compensation to follow

Agartala, 24th October 2025:  Following the recent incident of vandalism at Shantirbazar under Kamalpur Sub-Division, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha has directed the Dhala District Magistrate to assess the damages suffered by affected shopkeepers and residents.

 As part of the immediate response, interim relief has been provided to 55 affected individuals, with a total sanction of Rs 6.6 lakh. Upon completion of the damage assessment, full reimbursement will be provided in accordance with government norms. The state government reaffirmed its commitment to stand by every citizen affected by the violence carried out by Tipra Motha Party workers under the name of the Civil Society of Tripura at Shantirbazar, Salema. Ensuring peace, justice, and rehabilitation for all victims remains a top priority for the government.
