Agartala, 11th May 2024 : In a noble gesture to commemorate the 204th birth anniversary of the founder of modern nursing, Florence Nightingale, the nursing officers of AGMC and GBP Hospital organized a blood donation camp on Saturday. The event took place at the blood banks of AGMC and GBPH hospitals, marking a tribute to Nightingale’s legacy on the eve of her birthday.
MS Shankar Chakraborty, the Medical Superintendent of GBP Hospital, graced the occasion with his presence. In his address, he lauded the nursing officers for their dual role in healthcare: diligently performing their duties and actively participating in such humanitarian programs. Despite facing daily challenges, the nursing staff has been exemplary in their service.
Chakraborty emphasized that the nursing officers’ commitment extends beyond their regular responsibilities, and they are expected to continue spearheading similar initiatives in the future. The significant turnout of nursing officers at the blood donation camp highlighted their dedication to the cause and their unwavering spirit of giving back to the community.
