ISKCON Tripura to celebrate 3-day long ‘Janmasthami’ festival from Thursday

Agartala, August 17, 2022: The three-day long ‘Janmasthami’ festival will be celebrated in the premises of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), Math Chowmuhani in Agartala from Thursday onwards. This year, the 5249th birth anniversary of Lord Krishna will be celebrated.

Speaking to reporters here at ISKCON Temple premises here, ISKCON Tripura’s regional secretary Sripad Bhakti Vijay Bhagwat Swami Maharaj said “The three-day long ‘Janmastham’ festival will begin from Thursday with ‘Adhivash’ and local school students will participate in a competition of ‘Bhagavad Gita’ verses. The prizes among the winning students will be distributed on the following day.”

“On the second day of the festival, mangal aarti will be performed and rituals will continue for the entire day, shondha aarti, cultural programme in the evening. Moreover, a motorcycle rally will also be organized to create awareness on COVID Appropriate Behaviour”, he added. Regional Secretary also said “On the third day, ‘Nanda Utsav’ will be celebrated and in the afternoon, ‘Maha Prasad’ will be distributed among the masses.”
