Janjativa Gaurav Diwas celebrated at CSU, Ekalavya Campus

Agartala, 15th November 2025:   Ekalavya Campus of Central Sanskrit University, Lembucherra, Agartala, is observing Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas from 10th to 17th November 2025 to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.

A series of academic and cultural programmes were organised throughout the week to honour the invaluable heritage, identity, and contributions of India’s tribal communities.

As part of the celebration, multiple student-centred activities were conducted such as poster-making competition, photography contest, folk music & dance showcase and tree plantation drive.

Besides, students showcased tribal culture through Kokborok dance & song, Chakma dance, Manipuri dance, Oriya song, Assamese song and more.

Chandra Kumar Jamatia, former Chief Executive Member of TTAADC and former Chairman of AARC, Government of Tripura, graced the event as the Chief Guest and appreciated the campus for encouraging tribal awareness.

In his speech, he highlighted the contribution of Bhagwan Birsa Munda in freedom struggle in India and various progressive steps taken by the Government for tribal welfare and some challenges face by Janjatiya community in this postmodern period too.

The programme was presided over by Prof. Makhlesh Kumar. Director, Ekalavya Campus, and coordinated by Dr. Bijaya Kumar Jena, Department of Shiksha Shastra.

The week-long celebration concluded successfully with a collective commitment to preserve and promote the rich cultural legacy, traditions, and values of India’s tribal communities.
