Agartala, 3rd May 2025: A goods-laden jeep overturned on the national highway in the Naukaghat area of Sepahijla district earlier today. The vehicle was en route from the India-Bangladesh border in Belonia towards Agartala railway station when the incident took place.
According to the driver, the accident took place while attempting to overtake a bus at the Naukaghat area causing the vehicle to lose control and overturn on the roadside.
Local police and administration officials responded swiftly upon receiving information about the accident, initiating rescue operations. After prolonged efforts, authorities successfully lifted the overturned jeep.
Police confirmed that, apart from the driver, several workers were present in the vehicle at the time of the accident. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.
Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
