Agartala: Sept 06. A loan distribution program was organised by the Gumti Wildlife Sanctury in Dhalai district under Tripura JICA Project.
This is the first ever mass loan distribution ceremony held under the banner of Tripura JICA Project. A total of 450 members under 45 SHGs received about Rs 45 lakhs loan for various livelihood based income generation activities. The program was inaugurated by Raima Valley MLA Dhananjoy Tripura in presence of officials from sub division and officials of JICA Project Management Unit (PMU) from Forest Department.
JICA is likely to organise a similar program in the rest of the project districts in the financial year 2022-23.The JICA Project has a target of forming over 1300 SHGs over a period of 10 years and provide loan to the SHGs through the Joint Forest Management Committees.
