Agartala, 24th April 2024:  Former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma took a swipe at the opposition CPIM, likening the party to a ‘Chinese Product’ for its failure to offer any assurances to the populace.

During an election rally in support of BJP candidate Kriti Singh Debbarma at Krishnapur Assembly Constituency, Dev Varma stressed the significance of voting for progress.

He expressed optimism regarding BJP’s forthcoming triumph in Tripura, attributing it to the diminishing influence of the opposition.

“Voters must prioritize development. In Tripura, BJP is poised to secure a landslide victory because the opposition’s influence is waning. Our legislators and ministers have toiled tirelessly. Thanks to the collaborative efforts, Tripura has witnessed remarkable development. Unlike CPIM, which thrived on creating discord, BJP strives to resolve issues,” he asserted.

Jishnu underscored that abstaining from voting is detrimental, highlighting it as a fundamental democratic right that should not be disregarded.

He rebuked the opposition for disparaging remarks against BJP candidates Kriti Singh Debbarma and reiterated that both regional parties, IPFT and TIPRA Motha, stand in solidarity with BJP as it champions “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” (Together with All, Development for All).

“While we can vouch for our accomplishments, CPIM cannot, resembling Chinese products—used once and discarded. Their tenure was marked by suppressing the populace. This election is about PM Modi. Every developmental stride in Tripura is indebted to PM Modi. Under his leadership, the number of Self Help Groups surged, and over 500,000 homes were provided. Casting a vote for the lotus symbol is tantamount to endorsing PM Modi. Our duty is to present two lotuses to PM Modi. Let’s not squander votes on the INDI alliance, which lacks efficacy,” he concluded.
