Agartala, 8th November 2023: CPIM state committee member Jitendra Chaudhury today alleged that since the establishment of BJP-led government in the country, the people are facing severe crisis of food, work.
Chaudhury who is also an MLA was addressing a public meeting at the Kamalpur CPIM party office premises on Wednesday to protest against the increase in the prices of essential commodities ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
He also strongly criticized the ruling BJP in the centre and in the state for using the people for vote bank politics with fake promises.“Money pours in, dozens of projects are implemented, farmers’ income doubles, laborers’ income triples, jobs are created from door to door, and villages and towns are flooded with development. Such promises were made by the BJP government in state and in centre but in the reality nothing has happened. People are disappointed to hear these words”, said the CPIM legislature.
A procession was organized in Kamalpur town before the public meeting. The procession started from the CPIM party office and goes around the various roads of the city and ends at the CPIM party office premises. He further claimed that among the people of 125 countries in the world, people in India are currently at number 121 in terms of hunger. “Since the establishment of the BJP-led government in the country, there is no work, no food, and there is an extreme crisis”, he said.
Also present were former MLA Sudhan Das, Party State Committee Secretary Ranjit Ghosh, CPIM Dhalai District Committee Secretary Pankaj Chakraborty, CPIM Kamalpur Divisional Committee Secretary Anjan Das, Gana Mukti Parishad State Committee Member Amlendu Debbarma and others.
