Agartala, 11th December 2024: CPIM state secretary Jitendra Chaudhury criticized the government’s food distribution policies during his speech at the 21st Sub-divisional Conference of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Sonamura. The conference took placeat the Sonamura Town Hall saw the participation of 213 representatives.
Chaudhury highlighted the abundance of food items in the country and argued that if these were properly distributed through the rationing system at fair prices, the government would not need to provide free food to 82 lakh people. “On one hand, they claim to be giving food for free, while on the other, they are using government money to put up propaganda decorations with the smiling faces of leaders at every corner,” he stated.
The CPIM State Secretary’s speech was a sharp critique of the central government. He was joined by State Committee member Manik Dey and other district and sub-division leaders at the conference. The event highlighted the party’s ongoing efforts to address issues related to food distribution and government policies.
