Agartala, 10th April 2024 : Biplab Kumar Deb, the BJP nominee for the West Tripura Lok Sabha seat on Wednesday challenged claims made by former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, alleging defamation of Tripura. Deb asserted that if proof of child selling in Tripura due to scarcity is presented, he would quit politics.

In an election rally held at Bagma, Deb criticized Manik Sarkar for supporting the alliance of CPIM and Congress, accusing him of sacrificing his integrity. He highlighted the rise of communists in Kerala aiming to defeat Rahul Gandhi and accused CPIM of tarnishing Tripura’s image. Deb warned against Jitendra Chaudhury’s alleged intentions to sell off public assets and bury the communist party’s legacy.

Further, Deb questioned Jitendra Babura’s slogans of removing Congress’ skin, put side by side them with recent events and demanding accountability for past riots and criminal activities. He emphasized BJP’s commitment to the people over political dynasties, asserting the party’s enduring presence.

The rally drew significant support from workers and supporters, underscoring BJP’s strong presence in Tripura’s political scenario. Deb’s remarks aimed to discredit opposition claims and bolster BJP’s standing ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
