Agartala, 27th February 2026:   More than a hundred job-seeking youths gathered in front of the Shiksha Bhavan today, staging a peaceful sit-in protest to demand the immediate publication of the STGT examination results and the commencement of recruitment. Holding placards, the demonstrators began their protest outside the Tripura Teachers’ Recruitment Board (TRBT) office from early morning, insisting that the results must be declared without further delay.

The aspirants alleged that although the STGT examination under TRBT was conducted in 2022 with thousands of candidates participating, nearly three years have passed without the results being published. They further claimed that no clear indication has been given regarding the start of the recruitment process.

“We have been waiting since 2022. Many of us spent significant amounts of money to sit for the exam, but despite repeated assurances, there has been no progress. Several candidates are now nearing the upper age limit for government jobs. If results are not declared soon, many will lose the opportunity to participate in recruitment,” one protester said.

The demonstrators submitted an appeal to the Chief Minister, stating that despite submitting memorandums to the Chief Minister, Education Minister, and other administrative and political offices over the past several months, they have received no satisfactory response. Left with no alternative, they said, they were compelled to stage the protest outside the TRBT office.

Protesters warned that prolonged delays could disqualify many candidates due to age restrictions, effectively excluding them from the recruitment process. They demanded that the government publish the results immediately and complete the recruitment process without further postponement.

Issuing a stern warning, the agitators declared that if the authorities fail to take prompt action, they will be forced to launch a larger movement in the coming days.
