The oath of office and secrecy will be administered by the Governor of Tripura. Justice Ramachandra Rao arrived in Agartala on Monday ahead of the ceremony.

His appointment comes in the wake of a significant reshuffle in the Indian judiciary. According to a notification issued by the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, on July 14, 2025, the President of India approved his transfer from the position of Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court to the Tripura High Court.
