Kailashahar Press Club holds biennial general meeting and election

Agartala, 4th January 2026:    The biennial general meeting of the Kailashahar Press Club was held today, followed by the completion of the club’s election process.

Prior to the election, outgoing President Jamal Uddin and Secretary Sukanta Chakraborty presented detailed accounts of their tenure, highlighting the responsibilities carried out and experiences gained during their service. After the discussion, the previous committee was dissolved, and a new committee was unanimously formed.

In the newly elected body, Mohit Pal has been chosen as President, while Arindam Dey (Piku) will serve as Secretary. Charukrishna Kar and Abdul Munim (Hossain) have been elected as Vice Presidents. The posts of Joint Secretaries have gone to Anupam Pal and Bhaskar Ghosh Adhikari, while Biswajit Bhattacharjee has been elected Treasurer.

The meeting also resolved that the current committee will convene separate sessions to plan upcoming events, including Saraswati Puja and International Mother Language Day on February 21. To ensure financial transparency, a new Finance Committee has been formed, which will oversee all audit-related matters of the Press Club.

Members expressed optimism that the newly elected committee will make the organizational activities of Kailashahar Press Club more structured and dynamic in the days ahead.
