Kamalpur: Women demand police action against thefts

Agartala, February 17: A group of women from Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat wards 9, 10 and 11 met the police officials on Saturday and demanded their intervention to stop the spate of thefts in their area.

The women said that they have been living in fear for the last ten days as thieves target their houses almost every night. The thieves use some kind of spray to knock out the residents and their dogs and then loot money, mobile phones and other valuables.

The women said that they have lost their sleep and peace of mind and cannot even step out of their houses for any work. They also visited the Kamalpur Press Club and narrated their ordeal to the media.

The police assured them that they will increase the patrolling and security in the area and nab the culprits soon.
