Kamrul Mia arrested with 1,500 yaba tablets in Jatrapur police raid

Agartala, 28th October 2025 :  In a major breakthrough in the state’s ongoing anti-narcotics drive, Jatrapur police arrested Kamrul Mia and seized 1,500 Yaba tablets during a targeted raid in the Nidaya Gangkul area.

Acting on intelligence from a confidential source, law enforcement officials from Jatrapur Police Station conducted a search at the residence of Kamrul Mia, son of Farid Mia. The operation led to the recovery of 10 packets containing Yaba tablets, weighing a total of 162 grams. The estimated market value of the seized narcotics is approximately Rs 75,000.

Police also detained Farid Mia, 28, from the scene during the operation.

Officer-in-Charge Smriti Kanta Bardhan confirmed the arrest and emphasized the department’s commitment to combating drug trafficking. “The police are always active in eradicating drugs from society. This campaign will continue in the coming days,” Bardhan stated.
