‘Kaushal Mela’ held at Satchand RD Block to empower women

Agartala, December 16, 2022: The block-level ‘Kaushal Mela’ has been organized at Satchand RD Block under the initiative of Deendayal Upadhayay Gramin Kaushal Yojana and Tripura Grameen Jeevika Mission to empower women economically.

The fair was inaugurated by Satchand Block Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Arun Chandra Majumdar. Satchand Panchayat Samiti Vice Chairperson Tandra Datta, BDO Anupam Das, Assistant BDO Madhuchanda Das, and Kalapaniya Panchayat Pradhan Manik Roy were among others present on the occasion.

Around nine implementing agencies from different divisions of the state including Agartala participated in this fair for rural women. A large crowd of women aged 15 to 35 years is seen at the fair. The leader of Nova Education Society who came to the event said that they mainly provide training in logistics and after receiving their training, they have a wide range of employment opportunities.

Satchand Block Rural Livelihood Mission Coordinator Joybindu Saha said that there are a total of 1,258 self-help groups in Satchand Block. Of these, 30 self-help groups have become financially successful today by taking loans from banks. All the members of this group are financially self-sufficient today and for this they have been presented with certificates of appreciation by the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha.
