Agartala, February 03: The Khowai district administration held a meeting on Saturday to discuss the measures to deal with the problem of wild elephants in the Teliamura sub-division.

The meeting was chaired by Khowai District Magistrate Dr. Chandni Chandan and attended by various administrative and public representatives, including EM Kamal Kalai of ADC, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Senior Officer of Forest Department, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, and DCM Amit Roy Chowdhury.

The meeting was prompted by the road blockade staged by the residents of Mungiakami on January 29, demanding a permanent solution to the frequent attacks by a wild elephant named Moti.

Dr. Chandni Chandan told the media that the meeting was aimed at finding a way to capture and relocate the elephant, which has been causing havoc in several areas.

She expressed hope that the district administration would be able to control the elephant menace soon. She also appealed to the people to cooperate with the authorities and avoid any confrontation with the wild animals.
