Agartala, 13th July 2026: Higher Education and Panchayat Minister Kishor Barman on Monday chaired his first integrated administrative review meeting at Kazi Nazrul Islam College, Sonamura, focusing on the institution’s overall development.
Speaking at the meeting, Barman said, “Advanced higher education is one of the key foundations of a developed Tripura and a developed India.”
The session was attended by the college principal, faculty members, officials from the Higher Education Department and other government offices, student representatives, and members of Sonamura Nagar Panchayat.
Discussions centered on academic quality enhancement, infrastructure development, fostering research and innovation, digital learning, student welfare, skill-based education, employment-oriented initiatives, and future development plans. Special emphasis was placed on adopting quickly implementable measures through inter-departmental coordination.
Barman directed all concerned to prioritize students’ interests and ensure that every developmental decision is implemented within the stipulated timeframe with full responsibility. He underlined that the vision goes beyond the growth of a single college, aiming to build a modern, technology-driven, and quality education environment that will nurture skilled, creative, and responsible citizens for the future.
“Excellence in education, skilled human resources, and good governance together will shape a developed Tripura, paving the way for realizing the dream of ‘Viksit Bharat–2047’,” he asserted.
