Agartala, 20th January 2025: The ICFAI University Tripura celebrated the Kokborok Day today at University Campus. The main objective of the program is to offer due honour to the significance and evolution of the Kokborok language of the Indigenous community of Tripura State.
Dr. Bijoy Debbarma, the Ophthalmologist & Author and Bikash Rai Debbarma, a Literature Composer of Tripura jointly graced the program as Guest.
Prof Dr. Biplab Halder, Vice Chancellor of the University also presided over the program and delivered the welcome address.
Bikash Rai Debbarma on his speech emphasized about the origin and history of the Kokborok language. Dr. Bijoy Debbarma explained about the culture and heritage of the tribal people highlighting the importance of Kokborok language.
Other speakers were Dr. A. Ranganath, Registrar of the University and Suprachita Debbarma, Author and Research Scholar of the University. The program ended with vote of thanks by Dr.Dhananjoy Datta, Dean of Research & Development of the University.
