Kriti Singh Debbarma stresses timely and effective implementation of development schemes in Gomati

Agartala, 20th  August 2026 : Ensuring that government schemes translate into tangible benefits for the people, Tripura East Lok Sabha MP and Vice-Chairperson of the Gomati District DISHA Committee Kriti Devi Debbarma on Thursday called upon officials to accelerate development works and address public grievances promptly.

She made the statement while chairing a meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) at the conference hall of Udaipur Circuit House. Tripura Legislative Assembly Speaker Rampada Jamatia, Gomati District Magistrate Rinku Lather, public representatives and officials from various departments attended the meeting.

The meeting reviewed the overall progress of development activities across Gomati district, with particular focus on the implementation of Central and state government schemes, ongoing infrastructure projects and welfare programmes.

Departmental officials presented detailed reports on the progress of projects and schemes under their respective jurisdictions. The committee examined the implementation of programmes related to rural development, public welfare, infrastructure creation and improvement of living standards.

Kriti Devi Debbarma stressed that the core purpose of the DISHA Committee is to monitor the effective implementation of Central government schemes and ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive the assistance and services intended for them.

She urged officials to remove delays in the execution of development projects while ensuring that quality is not compromised. She also called for greater coordination among departments so that problems affecting the public can be identified and resolved without unnecessary delay.

The MP further emphasized the need for the district administration to remain responsive to the concerns of ordinary citizens and adopt a proactive approach towards resolving their grievances.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on strengthening monitoring mechanisms, improving inter-departmental coordination and ensuring that development initiatives in Gomati district are implemented efficiently and reach the people at the grassroots level.
