Agartala, 27th June 2025: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Khowai, located at Chebri, Khowai, Tripura has been honored with the prestigious Best KVK Award (2024-25) for Tripura State.
The award was conferred by ICAR – Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI), Zone VII, Umiam, Meghalaya, during its IX Foundation Day Celebration on 24th June, 2025.
This recognition received with the esteemed presence of Agriculture Minister, Govt of Meghalaya Dr. M Ampareen Lyngdoh; Dr. B.C. Deka, Vice Chancellor, AAU, Jorhat; Dr. AK Mohanty, Director, ICAR- ATARI, Meghalaya.
KVK-Khowai was recognized for its outstanding performance and exemplary contribution in disseminating location-specific, cutting-edge agricultural technologies, fostering farm-level innovations, and delivering impactful extension services to the farming communities of Khowai district.
The award citation praised KVK-Khowai for setting a benchmark in the state of Tripura through its dedicated service and innovations.
It is noteworthy to mention, that KVK, Khowai has also published its research activities in many National & Internationally recognized high impact factor Journals and Obtained Patent of different technologies and also registered different plant varieties by PPV & FRA & National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources.
Moreover, besides, the mandated activities; KVK, Khowai (Tripura) has been implementing different central and state government projects for greater benefit of the farming community.
The KVK has also developed many model Villages like Seed Production village, Climate Smart Village, Oil Seeds Model Village, Pig Village etc. Many of the farmers farm women, entrepreneurs, developed and Promoted by KVK, Khowai has been awarded with many National level Awards from different reputed organizations and institutions.
In recognition of these efforts, this KVK has fetched Best KVK Award for the state of Tripura from Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), ATARI Zone, Umiam, Meghalaya.
