Agartala, January 09, 2023: Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sepahijala, CAU (I), Tripura organized awareness programme on Natural Farming at Chikancherra VC, Jampuijala block in Sepahijala district on Monday.
The programme was conducted under the esteemed guidance of Dr Anupam Mishra, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, CAU, Imphal. The objective of the programme was to create awareness among farmers about the natural farming.
The programme was organized under the guidance of Prof Dr Ratan Kumar Saha, Dean, College of Fisheries, Lembucherra, Tripura and supervision of Dr Shatabhisa Sarkar, Senior Scientist & Head of this KVK. A total of 40 farmers, farm women, rural youth from the village were actively participated in the programme.
The programme was inaugurated by Sanjit Debbarma, Upa-Pradhan, Chikancherra VC; Madhusudhan Debbarma, Member, Chikancherra VC and others.
During the programme, farmers were encouraged to adopt natural farming and highlighted various path breaking ways for doubling of farmers’ income through chemical free farming. Demonstration on preparation of Jeevamrut, Beejamrut etc and poster campaign was also organized by Dr Utpal Dey, SMS (Plant Protection), KVK, Sepahijala for easy understanding of the farmers.
