Agartala, 14th October 2025: Acting on a tip-off, police from Bodhjungnagar Police Station conducted a pre-dawn raid today at the RK Nagar Panchayat hill area, recovering a substantial quantity of brown sugar and yaba tablets. One alleged drug peddler was caught red-handed during the operation.
OC Prashanta Kumar Dey confirmed the seizure, estimating the street value of the narcotics to be between Rs 2 lakh and Rs 2.5 lakh. A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and the accused is set to be produced before the court later today.
Dey added that the police have been maintaining continuous surveillance in the area to dismantle drug networks and assured that such operations will continue in the future to curb narcotics-related activities.
