Agartala, 13th November 2025: Swapan Baidya, popularly known as Bidyut and the proprietor of a local electronic cable channel passed away this morning after suffering a cardiac arrest at his residence in South Kalipur. He had been battling illness for an extended period.
Family sources informed that Baidya collapsed at home earlier in the day. He was rushed to RGM Hospital, where attending doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
A respected figure in the local media community, Baidya was also known for his work as a journalist. His sudden demise has prompted an outpouring of grief across Kailashahar.
The Kailashahar Press Club has expressed deep sorrow over his passing and extended heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family.
